Significant Reduction in Trade Deficit in Cyprus – Top Export Products

Cyprus's trade deficit saw a significant reduction of €230.9 million in January 2026, reaching €476.6 million, compared to January 2025. The trade deficit for 2025 increased by €891 million compared to 2024, according to revised data. The main categories of exports of domestically produced goods in 2025 were mineral fuels and oils (€2,331.4 million), halloumi (€356.9 million) and pharmaceutical products (€356.2 million). In January 2026, total imports amounted to €994.1 million, down 13.6% compared to January 2025. Exports amounted to €517.5 million, up 16.6%. In December 2025, imports amounted to €1,249.3 million, down 9.9% compared to December 2024, while exports amounted to €274.2 million, up 9.8%.
