Two on Trial for Torture Videos in Larnaca – Serious Charges

Two men, aged 48 and 27, have been referred to trial at the Larnaca Criminal Court for a torture case that took place in Pyla. The case concerns a well-organized circuit allegedly using violence, threats, and abductions for financial gain. The defendants face 16 joint charges, including conspiracy to commit a felony, illegal possession of firearms, torture, kidnapping, and causing grievous bodily harm. Additionally, the 48-year-old faces two additional charges for inciting the execution of a document and refusing to provide measurements. The police continue their investigations and are facing difficulties in securing testimonies from the victims, who appear to be afraid. The case has shocked public opinion due to the brutality of the acts revealed, with videos showing abductions, torture, and the use of weapons. According to investigations, there are at least six victims, including Cypriots, an Indian, an Arab, and a European citizen who are trying to identify. The trial is scheduled for April 27, 2026. The police are also investigating possible links to other criminal activities and trying to clarify the full extent of the circuit and those involved.
