Severe weather is hitting many areas of Greece, causing falling trees, transportation problems and flooding. Crete is particularly affected, with trees falling in Chania, Agia Galini, Heraklion and Lassithi, and ships remaining docked in ports. In Thessaloniki, the fire department received 200 calls for tree removal and debris cleaning, while air and rail transport were affected. In Paros, coastal areas were flooded. Authorities are on high alert as the phenomena are expected to continue. The Thermaic Gulf overflowed onto land in Thessaloniki, due to the strong winds.
