Από την πλευρά της, η Διεύθυνση Επικοινωνίας της Προεδρίας της Τουρκικής Κυβέρνησης, μέσω του Κέντρου Καταπολέμησης Παραπληροφόρησης (DMM), διαψεύδει ισχυρισμούς που κυκλοφόρησαν σε ορισμένους λογαριασμούς, σύμφωνα με τους οποίους «εκτοξεύτηκαν πύραυλοι από υποβρύχιο εντός χωρικών υδάτων της ΤΔΒΚ».
Σε ανακοίνωση που αναρτήθηκε στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης, το DMM επισημαίνει ότι πρόκειται για παραπληροφόρηση και τονίζει πως δεν έχει σημειωθεί καμία εκτόξευση εντός των χωρικών υδάτων της Τουρκίας ή της «τδβκ».
Σύμφωνα με την ίδια ανακοίνωση, οι εικόνες που κυκλοφορούν φέρεται να προέρχονται από διεθνή ύδατα, ενώ καλείται το κοινό να βασίζεται μόνο σε επίσημες πηγές και να αποφεύγει αναρτήσεις που ενδέχεται να στοχεύουν στη χειραγώγηση της κοινής γνώμης.
