Cyprus and European Commission Strengthen Trade Policy Cooperation

The Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, met with European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, Maroš Šefčovič, in Nicosia. The meeting took place within the framework of the Informal Council of Trade Ministers of the EU, hosted by Cyprus. The two officials discussed close cooperation and coordination between the Cypriot Presidency and the European Commission to promote an ambitious and open European trade policy. Discussions also covered issues such as trade negotiations with the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Mercosur, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to achieving tangible results during the Cypriot Presidency.
