Sharp Increase in Vehicles in Occupied Territories: A 86,000 Jump in Three Years

According to data from the occupied territories, there has been a rapid increase in the number of vehicles over the past three years. Specifically, from 2022 to 2025, the number of vehicles increased by 86,131, reaching 447,592. The annual increase ranges between 25-30 thousand, with a record in 2025 where an increase of 31,295 vehicles was recorded. Alongside this, there is a significant increase in the sales of electric and hybrid vehicles. Sales of electric vehicles increased by 547% (from 348 to 2,254), while sales of hybrid vehicles increased by 977% (from 1,270 to 13,674). This indicates a shift towards more environmentally friendly vehicles. Similarly, sales of gasoline and diesel vehicles also increased, by 18.2% and 21.1% respectively. The majority of the vehicle fleet in the occupied territories consists of used vehicles (300,046), while new vehicles amount to 122,405. The increase in vehicles has been steady over the years, with an increase of 9,593 vehicles in just 4 months (from late April to late August of last year). This trend suggests increased mobility and potentially economic activity in the region.
