Fire Department: Prolonged Propane Leak Caused 'Violanta' Factory Explosion

The Fire Department has completed its investigation into the explosion and fire at the 'Violanta' biscuit factory in Trikala, determining that it was caused by a prolonged propane leak. The leak accumulated in an underground space and, combined with a spark from electromechanical equipment, led to the explosion. At the time of the incident, 13 workers were in the factory, 8 of whom managed to exit the building. Four workers required hospitalization, while the others received first aid. The Fire Department mobilized significant forces to extinguish the fire, including fire trucks, EMAK teams, and drones. The investigation continues by the competent investigative authorities.
