President of Cyprus: Significant Economic Opportunities Remain Between Cyprus and Bahrain

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, emphasized the significant economic opportunities between Cyprus and Bahrain during the first Cyprus-Bahrain Business Forum. President Christodoulides referred to the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, expressing confidence that relations between the European Union and the Gulf region would be strengthened, with Bahrain playing a key role. He pointed out the importance of the upcoming EU-GCC Summit and Bahrain's presidency of the GCC-EU Council in 2026 as opportunities to deepen political dialogue and economic cooperation. Furthermore, the President showcased Cyprus's advantages as an investment platform, such as its stability, reliability, access to the Single Market and the Eurozone, as well as its modern and business-friendly regulatory framework. He also highlighted the competitive tax system and efforts to digitize public services. In conclusion, President Christodoulides expressed confidence in the significant potential for cooperation in areas such as financial services, investment, technology, construction, and infrastructure, emphasizing that Cyprus serves as a strategic gateway for Cypriot companies seeking to expand their presence in the Gulf and the wider Middle East.
