Ο Υπουργός Μεταφορών, Επικοινωνιών και Έργων Αλέξης Βαφεάδης, συνοδευόμενος από τη Γενική Διευθύντρια του Υπουργείου Μαρίνα Ιωάννου Χασάπη, βρίσκεται στις Βρυξέλλες για να συμμετάσχει στον πρώτο τρίλογο κατά τη διάρκεια της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ για την αναθεώρηση του Κανονισμού για τα δικαιώματα των επιβατών στις αεροπορικές μεταφορές.
Ανακοίνωση του Υπουργείου εξηγεί ότι ο τρίλογος φέρνει μαζί τα τρία κύρια θεσμικά Όργανα της ΕΕ, το Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ, το Ευρωκοινοβουλίου και την Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή, με στόχο την επίτευξη πολιτικής συμφωνίας για την τροποποίηση του Κανονισμού.
"Η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία ως η Προεδρεύουσα του Συμβουλίου της ΕΕ είναι πλήρως προσηλωμένη στην επίτευξη συμφωνίας που θα παραμένει πιστή στους βασικούς στόχους του Συμβουλίου για την επίτευξη ενός σαφούς και ισορροπημένου Κανονισμού", αναφέρει το Υπουργείο.

First Trilogue on Passenger Rights Regulation in Air Transport
The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeades, is participating in the first trilogue in Brussels, during the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, for the revision of the Regulation on passenger rights in air transport. The trilogue brings together the Council of the EU, the European Parliament and the European Commission, with the aim of reaching a political agreement on the amendment of the Regulation. The Republic of Cyprus, as the Presidency of the Council of the EU, states that it is fully committed to reaching an agreement that will remain faithful to the Council's key objectives, namely to achieve a clear and balanced Regulation. The revision of the Regulation aims to improve the rights of passengers in the event of cancellations, delays or overbooking in air transport.
