WARNING! Suspicious SMS Messages Impersonating GESY (Image)

The Cybercrime Subdivision has received numerous reports of suspicious SMS messages falsely claiming to be from GESY. These messages falsely state that there is a problem with the connection to the GESY electronic portal and prompt citizens to activate a malicious link to 'fix' the error. The link leads to a phishing website designed to steal passwords. The police are warning the public that these messages are malicious and have no connection to GESY. Citizens are urged to be particularly careful and not click on unknown links. Specifically, the Cybercrime Subdivision advises against disclosing personal information or passwords to anyone, verifying the authenticity of messages requesting such details, and if someone has already clicked on the suspicious link, to immediately change their passwords and secure their account. Furthermore, it is recommended to use different passwords for each electronic service maintained by the user.
