Road Conditions in Mountainous Areas: 4x4 Vehicles or Chains Required

Police are urging drivers to exercise caution when traveling in mountainous areas due to adverse weather conditions. The Platron – Troodos, Karvounas – Troodos, and Prodromou – Troodos roads are open only to four-wheel drive vehicles or those equipped with anti-slip chains. The same applies to the Kyperounta – Chandria road. The Papoutsas – Agios Theodoros and Papoutsas – Agros roads are open but slippery, requiring extra care from drivers. Police are calling on drivers to be particularly careful and take all necessary safety precautions when driving in these areas.
