Focus on the Goal, Not the Method

As the study of the Greek Superfund for the Larnaca port and marina is pending, the importance of focusing on the goal is highlighted: the creation of a modern port and a modern marina for the city. The method of achieving the goal (separate or unified developments) is of secondary importance. The failure of the previous company to make substantial developments, despite its commitment, is an example to avoid. Immediate clarification is required from the government regarding the timeline for tenders and the start of projects. The trade ceiling at the Port of Larnaca (900 thousand tons) is a significant obstacle to attracting serious investors and must be addressed. The discussion should focus on the essence and not on inward-looking confrontations. The city needs a port that operates freely, generating wealth without restrictions, and a marina that is consistent with the city's tourist identity. The author is in favor of moving away from the model of integrated development, if deemed necessary, but insists on the need for clarity and commitment from the government to implement the project.
