GESY and OAY Warn of Continued False and Malicious Messages

The General Health System (GESY) and the Health Insurance Organization (OAY) are warning the public about the continued sending of false and malicious SMS messages that appear to be from GESY. These messages use the name GESY and mislead recipients by asking them to follow a link to correct their personal details. GESY and OAY emphasize that they have no connection to these messages and that they will never request passwords, login details, payment information, or any other personal data via SMS. They also will not ask citizens to make any financial transactions through links. The authorities urge the public to be particularly careful and to trust only official announcements and posts from the OAY. If you receive a similar message, citizens are asked not to open the link and to delete the message immediately. The Cyprus Police have been informed and are cooperating with the OAY to address this phenomenon and protect citizens from potential fraud.
