Police Warning: Scammers Posing as EAC Employees Defraud Citizens

The Limassol Police are warning the public about scammers posing as employees of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) and defrauding unsuspecting citizens. The scammers visit homes, pretending to be EAC employees and requesting money for allegedly restoring power outages. Specifically, they switch off the fuse, reset it, and charge citizens for the 'repair'. The Police urge the public to be particularly careful and to immediately contact the nearest Police Station or the Limassol TAE (25805057) or the Citizen Communication Line (1460) if they notice anything suspicious. The warning was issued following reports from citizens who fell victim to the scam. The Police are conducting investigations to locate and arrest the perpetrators.
