Cyprus to Appeal Acquittal in Al Jazeera Case – Witnesses' Whereabouts Revealed

The Legal Service of Cyprus announced its decision to appeal the acquittal of Dimitris Syllouris and Christakis Tziovanis in the Al Jazeera case. Spokesperson Polina Evthivoulou emphasized that the decision to appeal does not negate respect for the presumption of innocence, but is based on the existence of legal errors. The Service sought testimony from individuals involved in the contentious conversations, as the circulated video could not be used as evidence due to its illegal recording. Two witnesses testified supporting the charges related to the Al Jazeera publication.
