Cultural Agenda, Monday January 26th

The cultural agenda for Monday, January 26th includes film screenings, lectures, theatrical performances, and art exhibitions. In Nicosia, Pantheon is screening the Turkish film “Things You Kill,” which won an award at the Sundance Film Festival, while the University of Cyprus will host a lecture on the ancient Egyptian city of Piramesse. Additionally, in Nicosia, the Chora Theatre presents “The Taste of Mr. Sloan” and the Satirical Theatre presents “Galactically Failed”. In Limassol, the Rio Cinema Club is screening the Korean film “Old Boy,” a classic work by Park Chan-wook that has received significant awards. The Ypsonas Municipal Theatre will also host a performance of “The Taste of Mr. Sloan” on January 28th. Among the art exhibitions, “Ground Matter” by Melita Kouta at Korai Project Space, “Myths of Cyprus” by GTP at Kasteliotissa, “ANAMNESIS” by Stefanos Filippou and Anastasia Sivkova at Gloria, “Living Forms” by Sofia Christodoulou at Marginalia, and “Fluid Persistence” at NiMAC, which examines issues of ecological disaster and the role of water, stand out in Nicosia. Finally, in Paphos, “The Taste of Mr. Sloan” will be performed at the Markideio Municipal Theatre on January 29th. Other exhibitions that remain open include “Parallel Visual Searches” by Marios and Anna Varella at Apokalypsis and the group exhibition “December” at Stand in Line, as well as the installation “Water Movement Nicosia” in the Municipal Square.
