Law to Control Political Advertising for All Candidates

A bill is being approved to control political advertising for all candidates, from community councilors to Presidents of the Republic, with the aim of protecting democracy and the responsible use of personal data. The bill, based on an EU regulation, requires the declaration of sponsors and the cost of advertising campaigns. Public advertising registries will be created, and there will be independent oversight by national authorities. The competent authority will have the right to inspect the premises of advertising companies. The bill covers all electoral processes, including presidential, parliamentary, municipal, and community elections, as well as elections for the leadership of political parties.
