Civil Defence: Test Emergency Message Delivery Will Be Repeated

The Civil Defence is proceeding with the completion of a “mass population information system in crisis situations” by June, aiming for timely and accurate information to citizens. The Commander of the Civil Defence, Maria Papa, stated that preparedness is at a good level, but there are also weaknesses that are being addressed. Ms. Papa stressed the importance of cooperation with various parties and the state to strengthen preparedness and address challenges. She called on citizens to monitor announcements and be informed about the measures they need to take in the event of a crisis. Information, according to Ms. Papa, increases resilience and effectiveness in dealing with risk. Referring to the test emergency message delivery, Ms. Papa noted that it was an initiative of the Deputy Ministry of Innovation in cooperation with mobile providers. She admitted that there were weaknesses and that feedback is being given to improve the system. The test delivery will be repeated in the coming days. Ms. Papa expressed her assessment that the Civil Defence is at a good level of preparedness and that continuous efforts are being made to address weaknesses and strengthen cooperation with all stakeholders.
