Civil Defence: Protection Instructions for Heavy Rainfall and Tornadoes

The Civil Defence has issued recommendations to the public for protection against heavy rainfall, storms, strong winds and tornadoes, in light of the Yellow Warning in effect for 24 hours. The recommendations concern self-protection measures against floods, such as cleaning drains and gutters, removing objects that may be carried away by water, and avoiding staying in basements during heavy rainfall. In the event of a flood, it is recommended to abandon basements, avoid crossing flooded roads and stay away from power lines. After the flood, it is recommended to avoid flooded areas and wait for approval from the competent authorities before starting restoration work. The Civil Defence emphasizes the need for preparation and prevention, as well as avoiding risks that may arise from floods, such as broken roads and contaminated water.
