High concentrations of dust were observed today across Cyprus, with the highest levels recorded in Paphos (191.0 μg/m3) and Limassol (133.0 μg/m3). The Department of Labour Inspection warns of the health risks posed by dust and advises the public, especially vulnerable groups, to avoid being outdoors until the phenomenon subsides. Employers are also urged to take necessary protection measures for their employees. Measurements show that dust levels exceed the permissible limit of 50 μg/m3 in some areas. Information on air quality is available on the website www.airquality.gov.cy and the “Air Quality Cyprus” application.
