Saudi Arabia Reassures Iran: No Use of Airspace for Attacks

Saudi Arabia has reiterated that it will not allow its airspace or territory to be used for a military attack against Iran, during a phone call between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Iranian President Masoud Pezeskian. Riyadh emphasized the importance of respecting Iran's national sovereignty and the need for dialogue and stability in the region. This position is part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to play a role in de-escalation, during a period of heightened geopolitical tensions. The United Arab Emirates made a similar statement, assuring that it would not be involved in any potential attack against Iran. Despite the assurances from the Gulf countries, the stance of the United States remains uncertain. President Trump has mentioned the deployment of an "armada" to the region, but has also expressed hope that it will not be necessary to use it. He also left open the possibility of a diplomatic solution. The situation in the Middle East remains fragile, with unstable balances and the potential for escalation still existing. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are seeking to avoid a regional conflict, but the final decision on a possible military intervention lies with the United States.
