According to the latest data from Eurostat, life expectancy in Cyprus in 2024 was 83.55 years, exceeding the European Union average of 81.5 years. For men, life expectancy in Cyprus is 81.5 years, while for women it is 85.6 years, a difference that reflects the general trend at the EU level where women live longer than men. Cyprus ranks immediately after Spain (84 years), Sweden (83.8 years) and Italy (83.7 years) in terms of life expectancy. The difference in life expectancy between men and women varies significantly between member states, with the largest difference being recorded in Latvia (9.8 years) and the smallest in the Netherlands (2.8 years). These figures highlight the differences in health and living conditions between the various regions and member states of the EU.
