Man Arrested in Limassol While Hiding Drugs in Vegetation

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Limassol for illegal possession of drugs. Members of the YKAN (Cyprus Drug Squad) arrested him while he was preparing to get into his car, after seeing him examining wild vegetation in an area of Limassol. A subsequent search revealed 9 grams of cocaine and 102 grams of cannabis in his possession. During the search of the 28-year-old's car, a precision scale, a sum of money exceeding €900, and other items were also found and seized as evidence. A search was also carried out at his home, but nothing incriminating was found. The 28-year-old was remanded in custody by court order. The YKAN continues its investigations to determine the origin of the drugs and any involvement of other individuals in the case. The arrest is part of the police's efforts to combat drug trafficking in the Limassol area.
