Study Presented for the Development of Larnaca Port and Marina

The study for the development of Larnaca port and marina was presented, which envisages cooperation between the state and the Cyprus Ports Authority (CPA). The aim is to implement the projects as soon as possible, in a way that meets market needs and reduces risk. The study was conducted by the Hellenic Fund and presented to the Larnaca City and Province Development Committee. The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeades, stated that the contract with the Kition company was terminated and that the government has promised the city of Larnaca to find a solution for the port and marina infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of state involvement with state funds, in order to control the implementation of the projects and avoid past mistakes. The study covers the operation of the marina and the port, as well as the need for land areas for the smooth operation of the port. It was noted that the development of land areas is important to serve the needs of the city and improve the quality of life. The government is committed to the immediate implementation of the projects and has already begun procedures for the announcement of tenders. At the same time, a Monitoring Team will be created on behalf of the Larnaca Development Committee to monitor the progress of the projects.
