President Receives Annual Audit Report

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, received the annual report of the Audit Office for the period October 2024 - October 2025 from the Auditor General Andreas Papakonstantinou. Mr. Papakonstantinou referred to 2025 as a year of significant reforms for the Audit Office, thanking the President and Parliament for adopting the changes. He also highlighted the addition of an insert to the report with forewords from Special Reports, facilitating the understanding of key points. The Audit Office committed to further modernization, aiming to improve efficiency and productivity. President Christodoulides expressed his satisfaction with the work of the Audit Office, emphasizing its important role in improving public administration. He also announced an upcoming evaluation of the Audit Office's operation, almost a year and a half after the appointment of Mr. Papakonstantinou, with the aim of further modernization. The government, according to the President, views the Audit Office as a partner and fellow traveler, with a common goal of strengthening control mechanisms and protection in public decisions. He stated his intention to work with the Audit Office to further improve the state. The receipt of the report marks a continuing effort for transparency and accountability in public administration, with the Audit Office playing a central role in this effort. The government and the Audit Office appear to agree on the need for continuous improvement and modernization of control procedures.
