Frederick University and RIT Dubai Strengthen Collaboration for Energy Transition

Frederick University and RIT Dubai are strengthening their collaboration in the field of sustainable energy, leveraging the Erasmus+ program. Professor Andreas Poulikkas visited the RIT Dubai Center for Sustainability and Energy, where he discussed with Professor Ghalib Kahwaji ways to deepen cooperation in joint research initiatives. This collaboration focuses on critical issues such as renewable energy systems, hydrogen technologies, smart grids, and energy policy. During the visit, Professor Poulikkas presented research and toured the RIT Dubai laboratories, while specialized technical exchanges took place. Both universities expressed their shared commitment to applied research and the energy transition. The two sides agreed to promote the writing of joint scientific articles and the development of research proposals for funding from international and European programs. In addition, issues of student exchange and hybrid teaching models were discussed. The enhanced collaboration is expected to strengthen the research capabilities of both institutions, facilitate access to European funding, and create mobility opportunities for students and academic staff, within the framework of the Cyprus-United Arab Emirates cooperation.
