A 46-year-old man has been arrested in Glyfada for the murder of his 80-year-old father. According to neighbors, the man ambushed his father, who was on his way to church, and stabbed him in the garage. During the attack, the elderly man reportedly said to his son: “My child, I am dying, don’t kill me anymore.” The perpetrator then placed his father’s body in the trunk of his car. The 46-year-old had previously been sentenced to 16 years in prison for the murder of his mother in 2014. The matricide took place in the bathroom of their home, with the perpetrator surrendering to the police after the crime. The unfortunate woman was found in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds. After four years in pre-trial detention, the perpetrator was released in 2018 by a prosecutor's order and on probation. The terms included residing at his father’s house and regularly reporting to the local police station. Upon his arrest for his father’s murder, the 46-year-old allegedly threatened to harm his two siblings if he were released. Authorities are investigating the perpetrator’s motives and history of psychological problems, as well as the effectiveness of the probation terms that had been set.
