Tragedy Strikes PAOK Fans in Romania

A tragic road accident in Romania claimed the lives of seven Greek PAOK fans, while three others were injured. The victims were aged 28-30 and were traveling by van to Lyon to attend a team match. Romanian authorities are investigating the possibility of driver fatigue or distraction, while the highway where the accident occurred is considered dangerous. The Romanian Prime Minister expressed his condolences. The condition of the three injured fans hospitalized in Timisoara is described as stable, with one in good condition and another in intensive care but under technical narcosis. Doctors are awaiting the results of tests to decide if surgery is needed. The Greek Ambassador to Romania, Lili Grammatiki, visited the hospital and was briefed on the condition of the injured. At the same time, the embassy is cooperating with the Romanian authorities for the repatriation of the deceased, whose identification is underway. The names of the victims are known to the families but will not be made public until the identification process is complete. Hundreds of PAOK fans traveled to Timisoara to support the injured, gathered silently outside the hospital, and were informed about their condition before returning to Greece.
