Outbreak of Foot-and-Mouth Disease Affects Over 25 Farms in Aradippou

Over 25 livestock farms in the Aradippou area have been affected by foot-and-mouth disease, with Mayor Christodoulos Partou reporting additional scattered cases outside the two main livestock areas. The situation is considered difficult, with concerns about the economic and psychological burden on farmers who risk losing their livelihoods. The Municipality has taken measures, such as restricting entry and exit to livestock areas and spraying vehicles, while cooperating with the Ministry of Agriculture to address the crisis. An investigative team has also been launched to investigate potential criminal offenses related to the spread of the virus. Tragically, a farmer in Dromolaxia passed away suddenly, with colleagues reporting that the situation with foot-and-mouth disease caused significant stress.
