Five European Countries: Alexei Navalny Poisoned with Lethal Toxin

Five European countries (Britain, France, Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands) have concluded that Alexei Navalny was poisoned with a lethal toxin in the penal colony where he was held, according to a joint statement released at the Munich Security Conference. The toxin, found in a poisonous frog from South America, does not exist in Russia. These governments accuse the Russian state of having the means, motive, and opportunity to use the toxin to target Navalny, considering Moscow responsible for his death. Analysis of samples from Navalny's body definitively confirmed the presence of the toxin. Navalny's widow, Yulia Navalnaya, stated that his death has now been scientifically proven, repeating her accusation that Vladimir Putin is responsible for his murder. These countries have reported the poisoning to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). Moscow has not acknowledged the results of the European laboratory analyses and accuses the West of conspiracy. France, through Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, denounced that Putin is ready to use biological weapons against his own people to maintain power. These countries also expressed their concern that Russia has not destroyed all its chemical weapons.
