The Cyprus Police conducted a large-scale coordinated operation to identify third-country nationals residing illegally in Cyprus. During the operation, which took place across all provinces and lasted six hours, 31 individuals residing illegally in Cyprus were arrested. Seven of them have already been deported/repatriated to their countries of origin, while procedures are underway for the deportation of the remaining detainees. This operation is part of a broader strategy that has led to the repatriation of nearly 12,000 illegal immigrants in the last two years, while the number of arrivals has decreased significantly.
