Palmas to Attend European Parliament Sessions in Brussels

The Minister of Defence, Vasilis Palmas, is travelling to Brussels to participate in the work of European Parliament Committees, as part of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union. On January 27th, he will brief the Security and Defence (SEDE) Committee on the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency in the areas of security and defence. The following day, Mr. Palmas will participate as a keynote speaker at the annual conference of the European Defence Agency. He will also take part in the meeting of the Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) Committee, where issues related to the link between defence and industry, research and innovation will be discussed. The Minister of Defence's presence in Brussels is part of the efforts of the Cypriot Presidency to promote its priorities at European level, especially in the areas of security, defence, industry and energy. His participation in the European Defence Agency conference is expected to highlight the challenges and opportunities in the defence sector in Europe.
