Three Dead in Russian Strikes on Odesa and Zaporizhzhia

Three people were killed in Russian overnight air strikes in the Zaporizhzhia and Odesa regions, on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In Odesa, two people were killed and three injured when a Russian drone hit a truck, causing a fire. In Zaporizhzhia, a man was killed in a Russian air strike in an industrial zone, while another was injured. Simultaneously, an “enemy missile attack” was reported in the city of Kharkiv. These attacks come just before the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which is entering its fifth year. Moscow conducts daily attacks on Ukraine, resulting in civilian casualties. The previous night, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack with 50 missiles and hundreds of drones on Kyiv, killing one person. According to figures from the United Nations mission monitoring human rights in Ukraine, nearly 15,000 Ukrainian civilians have been killed and 40,600 injured since the start of the war in 2022. 2025 was the second deadliest year for civilians, with over 2,500 deaths. These attacks highlight the ongoing escalation of the conflict and the severe humanitarian consequences for the Ukrainian people.
