Ukraine Shares Battlefield Data with Allies to Train AI Models

Ukraine is opening access to its battlefield data for its allies to train artificial intelligence (AI) software for unmanned aerial vehicles. The move comes as Ukraine has gained significant experience in countering the Russian invasion and seeks to leverage this experience. According to Defense Minister Mikhailo Fedorov, a platform has been created for the safe training of AI models, which provides constantly updated datasets and images from the battlefield. Ukraine has a unique collection of battlefield data, including millions of images and videos. Ukraine will benefit from the accelerated development of AI models, which will be used in the war against Russia. In addition, Ukraine wants to increase the role that autonomous systems play in the war. This move is part of a broader effort to restructure the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, based on data, with the aim of maximizing efficiency and maintaining allied support.
