Ukraine Rejects Hungary and Slovakia's Electricity Cut-Off Ultimatum

Ukraine condemned threats from Hungary and Slovakia to cut off electricity supplies in response to Kyiv's refusal to allow the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline. The two countries, heavily reliant on Russian oil, accuse Ukraine of disrupting deliveries due to a Russian drone attack. Kyiv described the threats as "ultimatums and blackmail", urging the countries to address their concerns to the Kremlin instead of Kyiv. A power cut would significantly impact Ukraine, which increasingly relies on electricity supplies from the EU due to Russian attacks. The Slovak Prime Minister threatened to cut off power unless oil flow is permitted, while Ukraine responded that such actions threaten regional energy security. Ukraine offered alternative routes to the EU for oil transportation while the pipeline undergoes repairs.
