Louvre Forced to Close Rooms After Leak Damages 19th-Century Ceiling Painting

A water leak at the Louvre caused damage to a 19th-century ceiling painting by Charles Menier and forced the museum to close many of its rooms. The leak came from a pipe in the heating system and affected the ceiling of room 707, where the work “The Triumph of French Painting” is exhibited.
