Slight 0.2% Increase in Producer Prices in January

The Producer Price Index in Industry recorded a slight increase of 0.2% in January 2026 on an annual basis, while on a monthly basis it showed a decrease of 0.6%. The index stood at 122.1 units (base 2021=100). On a monthly basis, increases were recorded in the supply of water and material recovery (1.9%), in mining and quarrying (0.4%) and in manufacturing (0.2%), while a significant decrease was observed in the supply of electricity (-4.4%). On an annual basis, positive changes were recorded in mining and quarrying (7.9%), in the supply of water and material recovery (0.9%) and in manufacturing (0.6%), while a decrease was recorded in the supply of electricity (-2.1%). Regarding manufacturing, increases were recorded in the manufacture of electronic and optical products (5.0%), in the manufacture of furniture (4.3%) and in the manufacture of machinery and vehicles (1.6%). Conversely, downward trends were recorded in the food, beverage and tobacco industry (-0.3%) and in the production of basic metals (-0.3%).
