Trial Date Set for Torture Case with Six Victims

Two defendants, aged 48 and 27, have been referred to direct trial at the Larnaca Criminal Court on April 27, 2026, for the torture case at a property in Pyla. They face 16 joint charges, including conspiracy to commit a felony, illegal possession of a weapon, torture, kidnapping, and bodily harm. The 48-year-old defendant faces additional charges of inciting the execution of a document and refusing to provide measurements during lawful detention. The trial is scheduled to begin at 08:45. The offenses were committed in Larnaca in the summer of 2025 and the victims are six: three Cypriots (one of whom is outside Cyprus), an Indian (also outside Cyprus), an Arab who is in Cyprus and a European citizen who is being identified. The Larnaca TAE continues investigations into the case.
