Parliament Accepts Partial Referral of President's Tourism Accommodation Law

The Plenary Session of the Parliament partially accepted the President's referral of the law regarding tourist accommodations. The Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism re-examined the law and proposed amendments, which were accepted. The amendments mainly concern the application submission process and the requirement for certificates of compliance with collective labor agreements. Specifically, the obligation of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism to receive and complete incomplete applications, as well as the requirement for a certificate of compliance with labor contracts for the issuance of an operating license, were abolished. The decision was made with 30 votes in favor and 15 against. The President had referred the law due to violations of the principles of separation of powers, legality, and equality.
