“Temple of the Nation” Completed in Occupied Territories - Opens for Ramadan

The newly constructed “Temple of the Nation” mosque in the occupied territories, a donation from Turkey, has completed its preparations and opened for Ramadan. Located in occupied Nicosia, near the ceasefire line, it has a capacity of 2,250 people and its architecture is inspired by Ottoman-Turkish Islamic tradition. The “president” of Religious Affairs of the pseudo-state, Hakan Moral, described the mosque as a place of worship and “spiritual renewal,” emphasizing its symbolic importance due to its location in a border area. Moral thanked Turkey for its support and stated that the mosque is part of a larger complex that includes important buildings of the pseudo-state. The mosque has modern infrastructure and is fully equipped to serve the faithful during Ramadan. According to Moral, the mosque represents a “stamp” of Islamic presence and is expected to attract visitors from the south as well. Its location near the ceasefire line is considered particularly important, symbolizing the Islamic presence in the region. The mosque will host Tarawih prayers and Quran recitations during Ramadan, while its capacity allows for the participation of a large number of worshippers. The construction of the mosque is part of Turkish policy of supporting the pseudo-state and strengthening the Islamic presence in the occupied territories.
