Total Lunar Eclipse: The 'Blood Moon' to Appear on March 3rd

A total lunar eclipse, also known as a 'Blood Moon', will be visible on March 3, 2026. The phenomenon will be visible from North America, the Pacific Ocean, Australia, and East Asia, but not from Europe or Africa. Lunar eclipses occur when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the Moon's surface. This particular eclipse coincides with the March Full Moon, known as the 'Worm Moon'. The red color the Moon takes on during the eclipse is due to the refraction of sunlight by the Earth's atmosphere, which filters out blue light and allows red and orange wavelengths to pass through.
