Olguin: 'Trilateral Will Be a Meeting of Substance and We Will See the Concerns of Both Sides'

The Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Maria Angela Olguin, expressed hope for progress on the issue of Confidence-Building Measures (CBMs) during tomorrow's trilateral meeting. After a meeting with the T/C leader, Tufan Erhurman, Olguin said the meeting was good and that preparations had been made for the trilateral. The meeting will focus on examining the concerns of both sides regarding the resumption of negotiations. Olguin expressed optimism that the leaders will be able to make progress on the CBMs, which are considered important for creating a climate of trust and promoting the resolution of the Cyprus issue.
