Crocodiles Pale in Comparison

The author strongly criticizes the Democratic Rally, DIKO, and other political forces for their belated engagement with the problem of borrowers and foreclosures, just two and a half months before the parliamentary elections. He points out their hypocrisy, as AKEL has submitted hundreds of bills to protect borrowers over the past six years, which were nevertheless rejected by the aforementioned forces. The author emphasizes that Averof Neofytou had admitted that the legal framework is unfair, but did not proceed with changes. He denounces the lack of the right of borrowers to challenge their debt in court, a situation that has led to disasters and displacement of families, which the author attributes to the policy of Anastasiades and his associates.
