OEB: Cyprus Safe for Quality Tourism and Investments

The Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB) has stated that Cyprus remains a safe and reliable destination for investment and tourism, despite the military operations in the Middle East. The OEB emphasized the resilience of the Cypriot economy, which has proven its ability to withstand crises. However, it acknowledges that certain sectors, such as tourism and exports to Gulf countries, are facing challenges. The OEB calls on citizens to contribute to clarifying the real picture regarding the safety of Cyprus and to avoid spreading false impressions. It proposes reducing the intensity of public dialogue, returning to discussions about everyday issues, and returning to normalcy as quickly as possible. In addition, it calls for the immediate restoration of the schedule for EU events that have been postponed due to concerns. The President of the OEB, Giorgos Pantelidis, will personally submit a proposal to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, during a meeting in Brussels, to restore the schedule of EU events. The OEB is committed to continuing to monitor developments and contribute to public dialogue to ensure economic stability and sustainable development. In conclusion, the OEB expresses optimism about the resilience of the Cypriot economy, but emphasizes the need for calm, clarification of the real picture, and continued business activity to ensure economic stability and growth.
