Journey of 'P' to Eledio - A Small Village with a Great History

The village of Eledio faces serious problems of urbanization, with only 37 permanent residents. The community leader, Takis Papasavvas, describes the weakening of the basic structures of the community, such as the lack of a school and the underfunctioning of the church. The population decline negatively affects the economy, with residents working mainly in construction, agriculture, and viticulture. In addition, there are difficulties in restoring the old church of Agia Irini due to bureaucratic obstacles from the Department of Antiquities. Mr. Papasavvas calls on the state to subsidize fuel for residents, in order to address the desertification of the village.
