Argaka: A Village Between the Sea, Forest, and Tradition

Argaka, a village in the Paphos district, is presented as a vibrant example of a community that is evolving while maintaining its identity. Built between the sea and the forest, Argaka consists of Upper and Lower Argaka, with the former preserving traditional architecture and the latter developing along the road. Its geographical location, with the stream running through it and the hillside on which it is built, makes it relatively sparsely populated. The village's economy is based on agriculture, while residential development is also observed. Deputy Mayor Spyros Pelopidas emphasizes the importance of unity and love for the place, as well as the successful development of the community thanks to the work and cohesion of the community council. Today, Argaka has around 1,200 residents, including many foreigners who have fallen in love with the village and have integrated into the local community. The community places emphasis on maintaining and strengthening school structures.
