UK Defence Secretary Visits Cyprus After Akrotiri Drone Strike

The UK Defence Secretary, John Healey, visited Cyprus days after a drone attack on the British Akrotiri base. He met with Cypriot Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas to discuss the regional situation and bilateral cooperation. The British minister informed about the deployment of HMS Dagon and anti-drone helicopters to Cyprus. Cypriot authorities have criticised London for the delay in reinforcing the protection of the British bases on the island. The visit took place during a period of heightened tension in the region following the attack on Akrotiri.
