Putin Calls Nuclear Forces Development 'Top Priority'

Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared the development of the country's nuclear forces as a 'top priority' after the expiration of the New START treaty between Russia and the United States for the control of nuclear weapons. He also pledged to continue strengthening Russian troops fighting in Ukraine. Putin emphasized that Russia's nuclear triad guarantees the security of the country and ensures strategic deterrence. At the same time, he committed to further strengthening the army and navy, taking into account the experience from the war in Ukraine. Russia and the United States are no longer bound by a nuclear arms control treaty, which raises concerns about global security.
