Water Supply Cuts: Decisions to be Made by Local Authorities

Water cuts are expected, but their extent will depend on the management of the Provincial Self-Governing Organizations (PSGOs). The decision provides for a 10% reduction in flow to the networks, not immediate interruptions. The Ministry of Agriculture estimates that, with proper management, people will not be deprived of water and cuts may not be necessary. At the same time, a temporary reduction in supply was announced due to maintenance work at desalination plants, but the Ministry assures that demand will be covered by alternative sources. For 2026, the allocation of 104 million cubic meters of water is planned, an amount corresponding to the consumption of 2024.
