18-year-old Iakovos Kedaris will represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Young Musicians 2026 competition, which will be held on June 6, 2026, in Yerevan, Armenia. His selection followed a national selection process, with a judging panel consisting of experts in music education and creation. Kedaris was distinguished for his artistic excellence, technical training, interpretation, and stage presence, playing the clarinet. Cyprus's participation in the competition marks the country's return to the event after a 12-year absence. The judging panel consisted of Music Inspector of Secondary Education Hara Charalambidou Anastasiou (president), Orchestra Director Petros Stylianou, and pianist Marios Ioannou. The Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC) announced that more information regarding the Cypriot participation and the preparation of Iakovos Kedaris will be announced in the near future. Kedaris's selection is expected to give a new impetus to the promotion of youth music in Cyprus.
